The second call of the European Energy Communities Facility (ENERCOM) drew 600 applications from all 27 EU countries, as well as Iceland, Moldova, North Macedonia and Ukraine. Together with the first call, the Facility has received almost 1,300 applications.
At least 71 communities will be selected, each receiving a €45,000 grant. The Facility’s total budget is about €6.5 million and it is expected to unlock around €120 million in private investment by 2028.
Selected communities sign their grant agreements and start their business plans between December 2026 and January 2027.
The energy community is the practical mechanism through which ZephyrNova returns the benefits of green energy to the people of Loznitsa.
